John Knott

President of JD Technologies, LLC

John, President of JD Technologies, LLC, started his career with GE in Lynn, Massachusetts as a product design engineer and graduated from their rigorous Engineering Career Development Program. This was followed by senior design/new product design responsibility with United Technologies Corporation where he transitioned into marketing and sales.

With this experience, coupled with an MBA, he achieved assignments of increasing responsibilities with established high tech companies as well as start-ups. He has successfully represented manufacturers by selling products in the northeast region of the United States for over eighteen (18) years.

The common denominator with John Knott’s experience over the last eighteen years has been “identifying and satisfying customer needs better than the competition can or will do” and selling technical products and/or services resulting in increased revenue and profit.

John Geisel

Senior Vice President of JD Technologies, LLC


  • John Geisel attended the University of Pennsylvania on a Navy ROTC scholarship and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Upon graduation he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a bombardier/navigator and attained the rank of Captain.
  • After leaving the service, he attended the Wharton Graduate School and received an MBA in finance and marketing.

John is an experienced executive that has held senior sales, marketing and general management positions. He has launched new, disruptive products and has grown revenues and profits by leveraging his customer knowledge. He has been successful because of his ability to understand the needs of his customers and develop solutions that solve their problems.

He began his career with the Hewlett-Packard VGol Products Group where he held positions in marketing and sales. He left H-P to join Nellcor, a start-up company that introduced new products to the marketplace. He became the Regional Sales Manager for the eastern half of the U.S. where he established key referral accounts and led the region to 120% of target.

He later joined Puritan-Bennett as Marketing Manager. He grew sales by 400% to $8M in two years by developing and executing a winning marketing strategy and sales plans. He was promoted to Division General Manager.

Jan Rimmel

Product Marketing Manager



With more than 25 years of experience on both the client and agency side, Jan works with growth-oriented companies seeking to activate brands through integrated marketing and sales strategies.  She utilizes agile marketing techniques to attract new customers and deepen engagement with existing customers and a test-and-learn process to identify the right engagement strategies to maximize relationships throughout the customer journey.

Prior to consulting, Jan spent 14 years at Hasbro where her leadership skills propelled her rise through the marketing ranks to the position of Vice President of Global Online Marketing Services.  Jan led the strategic planning, design and roll-out of the Hasbro.com across 34 locales in 24 languages and established an in-house agency service model to deliver award-winning websites, online promotions, product demos and partner marketing programs.  She loves a challenge and enjoys collaborating with internal and external teams to unlock ways to maximize success for B2B and B2C companies.

Laura Rivera

Inside Sales Administrator



Laura has experience in the Health Care, Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer industries. Responsibilities include sales as well as customer service. As a Geriatric Program Director for Devereux House, a skilled nursing facility she specialized in Alzheimer’s patients. Laura was responsible for social activity planning, patient care planning, conveyed a philosophy that supported the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.

Laura also has experience in the automotive and publishing industries. As a Client Care specialist at Michaud Mitsubishi, she created a strong rapport and set specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplished daily task. Developed valuable connections with clients to provide vehicle information in response to inquiries about products, services, and finance options and set appointments to give customers an opportunity to view the product in person and potentially purchase.

As a Marketing/Production coordinator she was successful at communication with direct vendors from China, Request for Quotes, and arranging Product sample shipments. Assists with travel plans when preparing for product fairs in China, Hong Kong, and New York City.

Laura’s passion resides in working in the customer service industry and strongly believes in ethics and integrity and genuinely cares about people.

Matthew Knott

Senior Sales Engineer of JD Energy

Matthew brings over 10 years of experience in engineering, marketing, sales, and product management within multiple verticals of the energy industry.  As a Senior Sales Engineer and Product Manager for ABB’s Distribution Components, a division of Power Products Business Unit, Matthew was responsible for simultaneously managing a $70 MUSD line of instrument transformer products while successfully introducing new distribution sensor solutions to the market. Prior to joining ABB, he worked with Invensys Operations Management (now Schneider Electric) as an Application Engineer. There he was responsible for the design and implementation of distributed control systems in a variety of generation plants ranging from 50KW biomass to 1000MW nuclear reactors.

In addition to his work in large corporations, Matthew has experience growing start-up companies that provide innovative system solutions for the energy industry.  Matthew’s work in leading both product management and marketing new solutions have helped utilities manage the shifting paradigm of increasing two-way power flow due to increasing distributed generation, more stringent security, environmental, and efficiency regulations, and the growing need to manage capacity in real-time along the distribution grid.

Matthew’s passion resides in working with customers to find the right solutions solving key problems that improve the reliability, efficiency and sustainability of end user products / systems.

Eric Gustafson

Senior Sales Engineer of JD Technologies, LLC


  • After graduating with honors in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA, Eric began his career at BAE Systems in 1996.
  • He continued his studies at the University of New Hampshire gaining technical expertise in the area of heat transfer, fluid flow dynamics, continuum mechanics and vibration analysis.
  • With a strong technical foundation Eric transitioned into consulting / business development and then sales involved extensively in new product development / introduction while filling gaps in customer’s technology road maps.

Eric worked for large companies as well as startups before becoming involved in consulting and consultative selling. Specific areas of accomplishment includes but are not limited to advanced technologies, lasers and optical systems, RF electronics, underwater systems, microwave electronics and infrared countermeasures. Received numerous patents including “Laser system for crowd suppression”, US Patent number 8114067.

He became proficient at building relationships with a wide array of companies and service providers such as laser diode developers, laser crystal manufacturers, machine shops, die casting houses, investment casting houses, rapid prototype and development companies as well as many other technology areas.  Eric also established relationships at BAE Systems and was able to get funding to help support the research of advanced heat exchanger technologies at University of New Hampshire which included development of porous foam heat exchangers as well as studies in microfluidic technologies and nanofluidic theory.
